[REVIEW] Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

Cleansing balms / first cleansers – Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm review.

So this was actually my gateway product into skincare – who knew?? I literally began the double cleanse process from using makeup wipes and never looked back.

Who else has this product, and what do you think of it??

*REVIEW: 9/10*

TEXTURE – it’s a lovely texture, quite thick but turns very quickly into a nice oil. The texture also emulsifies beautifully and feels very light and milky on the skin. Because of the slip of the oil, it makes it very easy to massage into the skin and stops unnecessarily tugging and rubbing especially around the eye area.

FINISH – despite the oil base, after the emulsion phase, it leaves no residue and leaves your skin supple and ready for your second cleanse – (I have never used it and just a one-step cleanse).

INGREDIENTS – it contains ‘safflower seed oil’, an emollient plant oil with moisturising fatty acids and antioxidant ‘vitamin E’. There are no essential oils and no sensitising ingredients, so if you have extremely sensitive skin I’d say this is a great bet! It does contain polyethylene however, an ingredient that has caused a lot of discussion due to environmental reasons because it is a plastic, but it is up to you and how you feel about it! – also because there aren’t many cleansing balms without it.

RESULTS – It does exactly what it says on the tin, it breaks down the spf and the makeup amazingly.

BOTTLE – quite a simple design and quite boring in my opinion, but very fitting within the Clinique brand. Quite elegant, feel a bit like a yummy mummy having it on my shelf.

DOWNSIDES? – It’s very practical, a standard good product that does the job well but without the added flounces and nice experience. Also i sometime feel like I get a milky film in my eyes if i do it with them open… it doesn’t hurt though, it’s just a bit strange !

PRICE – I paid £25 from BootsUK — a pretty decent price, but Im a cheap skate so I’m aiming to find something cheaper for my next cleansing balm purchase. (Any suggestions??)
